Fireplace remodeling, done by masons.
A fireplace remodel replaces the dated face of your fireplace with new stone or brick, a new hearth and mantel, and the finish details that make the room feel complete.

What a remodel includes
Every project starts with the existing fireplace. In most homes the firebox, insert or gas log set stays where it is, and we rebuild everything you see around it.
- Removal of the old surround, tile, brick or mantel where needed
- Prep and backing for a sound, flat base
- New stone or brick face, cut and set by hand
- New or rebuilt hearth: flush, raised or bench style
- Mantel installation: wood beam, stone or a classic surround
- Clean-up, with floors and furniture protected throughout

Refacing & resurfacing
If the structure behind your fireplace is sound, refacing is often the most efficient way to transform it. A new layer of stacked stone or thin brick goes over the existing face, so there is less demolition and less dust.
Refacing works well over painted brick, dated tile and plain drywall surrounds. We look at your fireplace in photos first and tell you honestly whether refacing or a full tear-out makes more sense.

Mantels & hearths
The mantel and hearth are what people notice first. We install wood beam mantels, stone shelves and classic surrounds, and build hearths in stone, slab or tile: flush with the floor, raised for seating, or extended into a long bench.
Mantel height and depth are planned around your TV, ceiling height and the look you want, so the finished wall feels balanced.

Fireplace masonry repairs
Not every fireplace needs a full remodel. We repair cracked or loose stone, failing hearths and worn mortar joints on existing masonry fireplaces, and match new work to the old as closely as possible.
Mortar and older stone never match perfectly, but careful selection and color matching gets the repair to blend into the original work.
